David,
Great thoughts behind this Sunday's activities. I hope that it does bless your congregation greatly. You definitely gave me something to think about with your discussion of the "type" of music we sing and how we let that affect our worship. I especially liked how you are using this as a way to bring attention to our voices praising God and behind that, our hearts. That phrase really touched me. I like to sing and have been gifted with a reasonably good voice. You've helped me bring some attention to why I'm singing and how I'm singing - am I singing to praise God or just to lift me up some more?

I have let myself get distracted with the type of music offered up to God before. I think I've grown quite a bit in this area lately, but it's still a struggle. While I enjoy a capella singing and harmonizing (a lot) and agree that it's not the only way to worship, I had never considered that it's a good way to bring attention to our worship.

Thank you again for your thoughts and for challenging those of us who read them.

In Him,

-Peter
