Description
One of the most precious songs to the Reformed Praise writers, this hymn, based on Psalm 130, was penned by Martin Luther himself. Luther was a Monk in the Roman church who diligently sought peace with God through his holy life. As he studied the Bible, he became confronted with the doctrine of justification and imputed righteousness and understood and accepted the gospel of salvation through faith in Christ alone, apart from the works of the Law.Lyrics | (Show Original Wordings) |

Bend down Your gracious ear, I pray,
Your humble servant heeding.
If You remember each misdeed,

Only by grace, by grace alone.

This song is beautiful...we are a new Reformed Church in Erie, CO and have used several of the songs from this web site...thank you for setting beautiful music to tunes that compliment this century but do not lose what Hymns are supposed to be!

Beautiful melody--singable and memorable, but more beautiful still the words which help us see Jesus' grace more personally applied and lead us to worship Him.
